| • If you want the best chance at a healthy
and happy life, abstaining from sex until marriage is the only choice.
|
|
| Studies conclusively show that people who wait
until they are married to become sexually active are less likely
to experience a pregnancy or sexually transmitted infections, or
to be physically abused or depressed and commit suicide. Instead,
individuals who wait to have sex until they are married are more
likely to have greater self-esteem, enjoy a higher standard of living,
and be in a happy marriage. |
Abstinence from sexual activity—any sexual
activity, including oral sex—or lifetime faithfulness to one
uninfected partner (as in marriage) is the only certain way to be
safe. If you've already had sexual contact, get
checked for STIs and tell your friends about the risks. You may
also want to consider "renewed" virginity.
If you haven't had any sexual contact with anyone, ever, congratulations
on making the healthiest choice! |

What
will my friends think?
Nearly 2/3 of all teenagers
are currently abstinent.
Ultimately, you are the one
who will have to live with the
consequences of the choices
you make, not your friends. |
Freedom to become the best person you can be! |
